Chic Trends: Modern ways to style black outfits in 2024

Written by Sheli Nuñez

After analyzing the spring summer 2024 fashion shows, I have uncover subtle trends that are coming in hot this year. Black was a prominent color in many catwalks all over the world and it’s no coincidence that it was style similarly across all of them. Straight away you can see that the classic hue has embark on a modern and alluring journey. Here are the three ways you should start styling your black looks.

Black with a peek of white

An elegant and easily achievable combination. Although many went with different alternatives, they were mainly similar. Brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Dior and Loewe were implementing this particular style. It consists of having a white piece on top and keeping the rest all black. Dolce & Gabbana paired a sheer white blouse with black short shorts and thigh-high boots. Zuhair Murad had a sophisticated black dress with a bit of white peeking at the top. I recommend styling a white lace top, because shocker, florals are trending in spring.

Valentino Spring 2024

I like to call this impeccable sensuality. It’s refined at its core but designers like Alexander McQueen and Rokh gave an alluring approach. While others like Valentino went a bit more subtle, which is ideal for this time of year. I can see myself all summer long walking with a breezy silhouette like this one. Maybe you have a glamorous event this spring. A black dress is one of few pieces that can stand the test of times.

Sheer with workwear

Yes, it’s happening and no, you shouldn’t go to work like that. Basically, by workwear I mean structured blazers and trousers. They give this trend an elevated formal look. Pairing sheer fabrics like organza or a delicate black lace brings a risky allure which is all the more appealing. Although you don’t have to use completely see through fabrics. Some like Victoria Beckham and Saint Laurent went a more discreet route with barely noticeable sheer pants. This is great for a night out paired with some dashing heels, in black of course.
