By Rosangely Gómez

It’s here. You can smell it the air, Autumn. Which means… Pumpkin Spice Latte! Just the name of it gives goosebumps. There is no denying how easy coffee shops like Starbucks makes it for us. Order it, wait a few minutes and done! Go on with your day. However, $4.95 a few times a week might affect your special splurge or travel savings account. The good news is you can make your own at home with less than $15 and drink it every single day.

First things first, ingredients: Serves 2

  • 2 cups of milk of your preference
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin puree (can be homemade or canned)
  • 3 tablespoons or less or more of sugar (depends on how sweet you want it)
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin spice
  • ½ cup of hot coffee

The directions on Inspired Taste state the following:

“Add milk, pumpkin puree, and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat. Heat until hot, but do not boil. Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and the coffee. Divide the mixture between two mugs. Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice.”
