Se acabaron las vacaciones para muchos. El resto no paró de trabajar en verano. Pero los periodos de trabajo y estudio cambian y tendemos a cambiar nuestra mentalidad para prepararnos a la hola de trabajo, el tráfico en la carretera y nuestra imagen. Como siempre queremos vernos profesionales y a la moda, pero deseamos lucir como que vamos a estar de piscina todo el día, tomamos como inspiración este look de Bottega Veneta de su colección Pre Otoño 2015. El toque de color y personalidad lo decidimos dar con el vestido. Mantuvimos la chaqueta y los accesorios en colores sólidos para llevar el vestido como el centro de atención del outfit. Utilizamos zapatos de tacón bajo para prolongar la comodidad y un bolso pequeño para sentir que todavía estamos de vacaciones.

For many, vacations are over. The rest did not stop working in summer. But the work and study periods change and we tend to change our mindset to prepare for work, traffic on the road and our image. As always, we want to look professional and fashionable and we don’t want to look like we’ll be in pool all day, that is why we took as inspiration this look from Bottega Veneta’s Pre Fall 2015 collection. We decided to give the touch of color and personality with the dress. We kept the jacket and accessories in a solid color to have the dress as the focus of the outfit. We use low-heeled shoes to extend comfort and a small bag to keep the feeling that we are still on vacation.

- Cúbretee – Ya sea que estés usando un traje o un vestido, nada debe ser corto o de corte bajo.

WORK OUTFIT: TIPS FOR A NEW JOB

DECODIFICA EL CÓDIGO DE VESTIMENTA. Una vez te han ofrecido un puesto, consulta con Recursos Humanos sobre el código de vestimenta de la oficina: ¿son las piernas al descubierto adecuadas? ¿qué pasa con blusas sin mangas? Siempre es mejor obtener asesoramiento antes de empezar.

MANTENLO CLÁSICO. Construye tu guardarropa de trabajo alrededor de piezas atemporales como el “LBD” y chaquetas entalladas que puedan usarse durante todo el año. Sólo compra algunas de las piezas en tendencia en cada temporada.

MEZCLA TUS ACCESORIOS. Juguetones y divertidos, son la clave para mantener tu aspecto fresco. Elige algo pequeño pero interesante, como un brillante par de zapatos de tacón, un cinturón de colores o un collar llamativo.

CÓMODA, NO CASUAL. Algunas oficinas pueden ser más relajadas, pero siempre mantente alejada de cosas como pantalones cortos de jean y sandalias. Usted quiere sentirse bien, pero no quiere ver como si fuera a la playa.

NO ENSEÑES DEMASIADA PIEL. Uno nunca quiere parecer demasiado expuesto en el trabajo. Si vas a usar una camisilla porque es verano y hace calor, añade un pequeño “cardigan” para cubrir los hombros y los sujetadores del sostén. Las niñas tienden a vestirse para el clima y no para la oficina.

ASEGÚRESE DE QUE LA ROPA LE QUEDE BIEN. La forma de sentirse en su ropa puede afectar su nivel de confianza. Si usted está físicamente incómodo porque su ropa es demasiado apretada o floja, va a inquietarse y parecerá autoconsciente.

VAYA CON EL CABELLO Y MAQUILLAJE IMPECABLES. Su “look” de belleza siempre debe verse compuesto, pero no exagerado. Cosas como mucho maquillaje o el pelo mojado son un rotundo NO. Parecerá que usted no está tomando en serio su trabajo.

VÍSTASE COMO SI FUERA EL DÍA DE LA ENTREVISTA. Siempre es permitido errar por estar sobrevestidos. Si usted lleva sólo unos meses en un nuevo trabajo, usted todavía está siendo evaluado, por lo que es inteligente ser más cauteloso.

DECODE THE DRESS CODE. Once you’ve been offered a position, inquire with Human Resources about the office’s dress code: Are bare legs okay? What about sleeveless tops? It’s always better to get guidance before you start.

KEEP IT CLASSIC. Build your work wardrobe around timeless pieces like LBDs and tailored jackets that can ben worn year-round. Stick to buying only a few trendy items each season.

MIX UP YOUR ACCESSORIES. Playful extras are key to keeping your look fresh. Choose something small but interesting, like a bright pair of heels, a colorful belt or a statement necklace.

BE COMFORTABLE, NOT CASUAL. Some offices can be more laid-back, but always stay away from things like jean shorts and flip-flops. You want to feel good, but you don’t want to look like you’re headed to the beach.

DON’T BARE TOO MUCH SKIN. You never want to seem over-exposed at work. If you’re going to wear a stripy top because it’s summer and it’s hot out, add a little cardigan to cover your shoulders and your bra straps. Girls tend to dress for the weather and not for the office.

MAKE SURE YOUR CLOTHES FIT WELL. The way you feel in your outfit can affect your confidence level. If you’re physically uncomfortable because your clothes are to tight or loose, you’re going to fidget and appear self-conscious.

GO FOR POLISHED HAIR & MAKEUP. Your beauty look should always be pulled-together, but not overdone. Things like heavy makeup or wet hair are major no-nos. It looks like you aren’t taking your job seriously.

DRESS LIKE IT’S INTERVIEW DAY. Always err on the side of being overdressed. If you’re just a few months into a new job, you’re still being evaluated, so its smart to be more cautious.

FALL OUTFIT IDEA / IDEAS PARA VESTIMENTA EN OTOÑO

This fall 2013, embrace comfortable dressing in a very chic way. Pair an embellished sweater in a light color with dark stripes. Add cute brown loafers and a cross-body bag in a similar color an texture as the shoes.

Este otoño 2013, adopta una cómoda vestimenta de manera elegante. Para lograrlo, escoge un “sweater” adornado con cristales o brillo en un color claro. Acompáñalo con un pantalon que contenga rayas oscuras. Añade mocasines marrones “cute” y una “cross-body bag” en un color parecido a los zapatos, con una textura similar.

To go to work and look stylish, go with the premise of choosing classic colors like black and white. To make the outfit interesting, I chose a black skirt embroidered with flowers of the same color. The blouse is white, with short sleeves and a high neckline. The touch of color will be the green shoes. Finish with a large collar with lenght and full of crystal details.

Para ir a trabajar y verte elegante, parte de la premisa de escoger colores clásicos como el negro y el blanco. Para hacer el “outfit” interesante, escogí una falda negra con un bordado de flores del mismo color. La blusa es blanca, de mangas cortas y cuello alto. El toque de color estará en los zapatos verdes. Culmina con un collar grande y de mediana longotud lleno de detalles en cristales.

Go out in style by pairing a printed long sleeve jumpsuit with a gold waist belt and gold sky-high heels. Add a furry clutch of the same color of the jumpsuit and you will be the fashionista on the party.

Salga en estilo, uniendo un “jumpsuit” en color vino impreso, de manga larga, con un cinturón color oro y tacones altísimos del mismo color. Añade una cartera tipo “clutch” en pelo del mismo color del traje y serás la fashionista de la fiesta.

FALL OUTFIT IDEA – MEN / IDEAS PARA VESTIMENTA EN OTOÑO – HOMBRES

For that casual-sport look you are looking for, find a t-shit with a fun graphic in bold colors that you really like. Then, use denim with a light wash so you look relaxed. Combine it with sneakers in a double shade of brown without designs or graphics. Add a backpack similar to the color of the shoes.

Para ese “look casual-sport” que tanto te gusta llevar, sal de la monotonía y busca una “t-shit” con un gráfico divertido en colores llamativos que te guste. Luego, utiliza un pantalón mahón con un “light wash” para que te veas relajado. Combínalo con unos tenis en doble tonalidad de marrón y sin diseños ni gráficos. Añade un bulto de un color parecido a los zapatos.

When choosing clothes to work, remember that simplicity and elegance will be your best ally. I believe that being well dressed at work will help you improve the perception that your bosses and colleagues have about you and will open doors for you. This time I chose the traditional black and white. But, to not be looking like an usher (unless that’s your job), choose a shirt with a simple and different design. The black pants are a skinny cut to frame your figure and give you an European flair. The twist is in the accessories. I chose shoes of a red-brown hue … similar to deep burgundy. This will give color to your outfit and everyone will know you’re not as stiff and sober as black and white.

A la hora de escoger ropa para ir al trabajo, recuerda que la sencillez y la elegancia serán tu mejor aliado. Considero que estar bien vestido en el trabajo te ayudará a mejorar la percepción que tienen tus jefes y colegas de tí y te abrirá puertas. Esta vez escogí el tradicional negro y blanco. Pero para que no parezcas ujier (a menos que ese sea tu trabajo) escoge una camisa con un diseño sencillo y diferente. Los pantalones negros son de talle “skinny” para estilizar tu figura y darte un toque europeo. El “twist” está en los accesorios. Escogí zapatos y correa en una tonalidad entre marrón y rojo… parecida al color vino. Esto te dará color a tu vestimenta y todos sabrán que no eres tan rígido y sobrio como el blanco y negro.

When going out to party, do it in style. For a strong look, go for black. Choose a black shirt with some detail or embellishment. Add skinny black trousers and a black shoe with a metallic detail and a different texture on the leather. Finish the look with a jacket in a light iridescent blue, to give you some color and make the outfit pop.

Al salir de fiesta, hazlo con estilo. Para una “look” fuerte, escoge el color negro. Elije una camisa de color negro con un poco de detalle o elemento decorativo. Añade a la vestimenta unos pantalones negros ajustados y unos zapatos negros con un detalle metálico y una textura diferente de la piel. Termina el look con una chaqueta en un azul claro tornasol, para darle un poco de color y hacer que tu vestimenta resalte.
