With her page now has 12.6 million followers on Tik Tok, Emily Mariko has stirred the internet once again with her famous meal prep videos. This time, serving the now known Salmon Rice Bowl.

In her Tiktok video, Emily displays the clever technique of combining leftover cooked salmon and fridge-stored rice by sprinkling them with flakes, dropping an ice cube, wrapping them in parchment paper, and microwaving them to perfection. As the ice cube dissolves partially and transforms into steam, it adds moisture and warmth to the salmon and rice dishes.

Afterwards, simply incorporate soy sauce, kewpie mayo, and sriracha. The dish composed of rice concludes by being topped off with avocado slices and accompanied by a serving of kimchi. Unwrap a packet of Korean seaweed or laver and utilize chopsticks to gather some rice and seaweed to relish! It’s understandable why this video has gone viral. It’s a delightful, rapid, and effortless experience.

  • Break apart your cooked salmon into small pieces. Flake the salmon by mashing it with a fork.
  • Place the rice onto the surface. Add some fresh or leftover rice on the salmon.
  • Insert an ice cube into the rice and wrap everything with parchment paper. Heat in the microwave until it becomes warm. The salmon and rice benefit from the melted ice cube in the microwave by gaining additional moisture.
  • Take out the frozen water, pour a small amount of soy sauce and blend all the ingredients.
  • Garnish with avocado slices, sriracha and mayonnaise.
  • Indulge in the pleasure of consuming roasted seaweed and kimchi!

The perfect combination of tender salmon, light and airy rice, savory soy sauce, and rich kewpie mayonnaise creates an absolutely delectable dish. Devouring this is akin to consuming a dismantled onigiri; a treat synonymous with adoring Japanese rice balls.

The seaweed retains its crispiness and can be customized with varying tastes by incorporating kimchi or avocado into every mouthful. Additionally, the concept of utilizing an ice cube to create steam for reheating chilled rice and salmon is a brilliant idea.
