What we’ve seen trending in the runway shows and all over social media lately is radiant skin. It’s soft without texture and with a healthy glow. It’s definitely what we all wished for during Christmas. While a little few can actually achieve this without makeup, some of us need a little help. The reality is many women struggle with acne, dark spots and textured skin. If you want to give this trend a shot, I have gathered all you need to make it happen. The result will be flawless looking skin you’ll be posting on instagram more often.
First of all, we have to start at the base. You’ll need a moisturizer to give your skin that juicy look. For example Tatcha’s dewy skin cream is great because your skin will look and feel its best. Another alternative can be, skipping moisturizer and going with a sunscreen. The glow screen from Supergoop! has that luminosity we’re aiming for. If you don’t have many imperfections or don’t use foundation you can opt for using this glowy sunscreen by itself.
Moving on, the foundation you choose should have a natural finish. Makeup by Mario offers a cult favorite due to its smoothing and buildable coverage. The trick is to not use too much, even if you have dark spots, opt for concealer to remedy that. After finishing the base, use concealer as you normally would applying it under the eyes and other areas to highlight. If you want more glow or if you simply didn’t apply the glow screen, you can add a few drops of bright drops. This Drunk Elephant formula can also be mixed with a hydrating cream as an alternative. You should be looking radiant at this point.
Next, lets enhanced your unique features. I suggest using a peach tone blush, since it’s also trending and looks great and natural on anyone. Might I add, that the trick to achieving this look is using cream products. Merit has an incomparable cream blush. Rare Beauty’s liquid alternative it’s also an ideal choice. For this look it’s better to use bronzer as opposed to contour, we’re trying to look as natural as possible.
Lastly, if you’re a bit oily, apply some powder on those areas to ensure they stay in place during the day. Makeup by Mario has a powder that will add a bit of brightness. Brush, shape and fill in your eyebrows as needed but don’t over do it. We know you have layers of makeup but nobody else needs to know. Finish by lining your lips with a mauve hue and apply a gloss or lip oil.
When doing this trend remember to apply thin layers. Any dark spot and acne can be covered with concealer or color corrector. The idea is that this products can aid without having a heavy face of makeup on, which will ruin the illusion. If you don’t have much to cover, embrace your skin as it is.
