This is the one trend currently taking the fashion world by storm. Many shades of this primary color have been seen on the catwalks but the one that’s been on everyone’s mind is the vibrant cherry red. It has been seen on many fashion shows and in street style looks all over the world. It has been incorporated in makeup and accessories as well, with the popularity of red handbags and shoes rapidly increasing.
Although, it isn’t a new trend, for this new fall winter 2023 season the color has come back stronger being featured in many more looks per designer compared to last season. It’s even seen in the makeup with some spring 2024 shows like Chloe, Dion Lee and Alexander McQueen having most models strut with a bright red lipstick accompanied by a natural brown eye shadow. In some runway shows you can spot red nail polish on the models hands and it wasn’t hard to spot Kendall Jenner closing the Schiaparelli show with a midi dress made of actual red nails which took this trend to a new level within the beauty and fashion industry.
There are many ways to incorporate the color into your everyday style, just take notes from what the designers and influencers are doing. If you consider yourself audacious and whimsical take inspiration from designers brands like Bronx and Banco, which paired a extravagant dress with orange platforms, and Bottega Veneta, who presented for their latest fashion show a red dress with strappy green sandals.
If you’re on the introverted side or simply prefer to wear neutral colors you can combine dangling red earrings with a white shirt for work. Proenza and The Attico paired the trend with muted grey tones which makes it stand out even more without being drastic or overbearing.
The brave and edgy, you’ll want to add a cherry red leather jacket or slouchy knee high boots to your shopping cart for a statement piece.
Also, consider being the statement like Emili (@emilisindlev), who went full monochrome on a layered, attention-demanding outfit.
In case you like a refined, classic look some kitten heels in the popular shade will do the trick paired with an all black or white ensemble, for example we have Ava (@avasalmaci) who recently paired vibrant pointy heels and lipstick with a white shirt dress for a minimal yet sophisticated approach.
I suggest for a laid-back and feminine look to consider something like Veronica (@veronicaferraro) who matched a small Jacquemus purse and square toe ballet flats with loose denim and a black top or Staud that for their show, had a denim on denim look with slightly visible but eye-catching red flats.
