For everyone who follows us on our social networks, a few weeks ago they could see a change of scenario in our posts. This was because we were invited by the Office of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic in Puerto Rico and its director, Mrs. Lilianl Reyes to be part of the exclusive Puerto Rican press group that would be part of the 11th edition of Dominicana Moda.

Our response, a resounding YES, was the beginning of a journey that we will never forget at a personal level and in the history of TRAFFIC-CHIC. That’s why we created this special coverage entitled “Santo Domingo is” where every day we will tell our experience in detail.

The day of the trip began at dawn. Before the sun came up, at the Luis Muñoz Rivera airport, we met the members of the group that would travel to the Dominican Republic. In front of Pawa Airlines’s front desk me and Michael Ferrer from TRAFFIC-CHIC, TV host María María for the program Ellas y tus noches, Arnaldo Rivera Braña and Felix Fargas for the magazine Mirame Siempre met with Lilialn Reyes and Pedro Tocuyo of the Ministry of Tourism. Later Puerto Rican designers Sonia Santiago and Luis Antonio arrived to the group.

The flight was a short one, as short as the time it takes to fill out the immigration papers and taste the juice and cookies offered by the airline. One of the things that fascinated us was Pawa Airlines’ commitment to support the fight against breast cancer: from the pink ties over the necks of the flight attendants to the explanation of how to conduct a self-examination. It is worth mentioning that the Pawa team was very well uniformed with the designs of the Dominican Luis Domínguez – whom we interviewed and you will see his complete show in TRAFFIC-CHIC-.

Arriving in Dominican Republic, the immigration process was a fast one. On the outskirts of the airport waiting for us was a bus from the Ministry of Tourism who would take us to the Occidental El Embajador Hotel, where Dominicana Moda was celebrated. We toured the city and began to share as a group with the sound of bachata on the radio. We arrived at the event, where they greeted us and handed to us our seating tickets, press credentials, calendar of events and an attentive note of welcome from the organization.

Our stay in the Dominican Republic was a short one, but full of moments, memories and adventures. Every day we enjoyed fashion shows in an atmosphere that has nothing to envy to the big fashion capitals like New York. Excellent decoration, organization and technology was what we witnessed in every show. The events were very punctual and after each show attendees enjoyed the lobby of the hotel with its booths and the DM Mall.

We also divided our time getting to know the beautiful city, its history and gastronomy. We fell in love with the Colonial Zone, place that will host the next edition of Dominican a Moda. As we explained above, we will dedicate this week to a series of special coverage where in great detail I will tell you our experience in this charming city.

Remember to continue visiting our digital magazine, our YouTube channel and our social networks to live our experience in the Dominican Republic.
