Miami International University of Art and Design celebrated at the Moore Building in Miami’s Design District its annual fashion show, showcasing the best of the emerging designers’ work. These garments are from the Spring/Summer 2018 collection titled Style 2018. Miami is making headlines as a new international fashion capital, and graduating students at Miami International University of Art and Design are at the forefront of the latest trends, designing striking collections that is bringing New York or Milan styles right to Miami. For sure, the next generation of designers is coming out of Miami International University of Art & Design. 

This annual show has been running for over 40 years, sky-rocketing new designers from Miami to the international fashion scene. The show highlighted the best collections from student designers from the Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs in Fashion Design. Only the most talented and skilled students are selected to showcase their unique pieces to compete for the top awards in various categories including: Editorial, Collection, Evening, Trend, Sportswear, Avant-Garde, Ready to Wear, Cocktail and Menswear

The winning students are selected by fashion industry expert judges were:

  • Overall Designer award: Anastasio Giannoutsos
  • Menswear winner (Presented by Perry Ellis): Judith Cabrera
  • Ready-To-Wear winner: Tien Nguyen
  • Contemporary Vision winner: Anabel Venegas
  • Editorial winner: Julie Vigurie
  • Special Recognition: Katherin Sabbagh

Miami International University of Art & Design is located near the heart of the arts district in downtown Miami offering degree programs in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, Visual & Entertainment Arts, Photography, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Visual Effects & Motion Graphics, Computer Animation, and Film & Digital Production. MIU also offers Master of Fine Arts degree programs in Interior Design, Computer Animation, Film, Graphic Design and Visual Arts.
