Otro desfile que formó parte de la alianza entre Dominicana Moda y Haití Fashion Weeek fue el desfile del diseñador haitiano Michel Chataigne para la temporada de primavera/verano 2017. La colección titulada “Roots” presenta de manera sencilla y moderna las raíces caribeñas y haitianas de Chataigne. La propuesta fue una llena de color donde el turquesa dominó la pasarela, combinado con tonalidades de amarillo, verde, rojo, rosado y violeta. Las piezas fueron confeccionadas con textiles frescos, ligeros y fluidos, perfectos para las altas temperaturas del Caribe.
Estampados abstractos y un poco difuminados dieron diversidad a cada prenda. Entre los detalles distinctivos de la colección, nos llamó la atención la variedad en las mangas. Vimos desde piezas sin ellas, otras con mangas cortas y abombachadas, hasta mangas largas de corte abombachado o campana. Chataigne no hizo uso de muchos accesorios. Más bien se concentró en colocar a algunas piezas collares xtra largos con borlas y otras piezas llevaron pequeñas carteras tipo cesta confeccionadas en cuentas.

Another show that was part of the alliance between Dominicana Moda and Haiti Fashion Week was from Haitian designer Michel Chataigne for the spring/summer 2017 season. The collection entitled “Roots” featured in a simple and modern way Chataigne’s Caribbean and Haitian roots. The proposal was full of color where turquoise dominated the catwalk, combined with shades of yellow, green, red, pink and violet. The pieces were made with fresh, light and fluid fabrics, perfect for the high temperatures of the Caribbean.
Abstract and a little bit blurred prints gave diversity to each garment. Among the distinctive details of the collection, there were the variety of sleeves. We saw from pieces without them, others with short puffed sleeves, to long puffed or bell sleeves. Chataigne did not use many accessories. Instead, he concentrated on adding to some pieces an extra long necklaces with a tassels and other a small basket bag made out of beads.
