Miami’s ‘Sneaker Queen,’ Alessandra Gold and renowned Miami swimwear designer Lila Nikole presented the Lila Nikole ‘Tribez’ swimwear collection at FUNKSHION SWIM WEEK, not once, but twice in two epic runway shows. Both days brought an attendance of about 2,000 guests. Amongst press present were VH1, Deco Drive, Ocean Drive, Vogue Italy, Huff Post, bloggers, fans and influencers.

The first of the two shows, hosted by the Nautilus South Beach on Friday night, featured a runway under the stars atop the hotel’s legendary swimming pool. An unavoidable delayed start had the show go on just as the skies were opening up, and the swimsuits and models (and guests and photographers) all got good and wet! Those who stuck it out, cheering on the show through the downpour experienced some truly unique and stunning visuals despite the weather forcing the show to be cut short.

Not to be outdone by the elements, these two tenacious women designers worked with FUNKSHION to show their appreciation to press and fans, and presented an encore of the entire show on Sunday evening at the Sunrise Tent in Collins Park where they again proved their chops and delighted a full house to a tribal runway experience with live percussion by Rumba King and DJ Rob Dinero on the turntables.

The Tribez collection dazzled with custom prints in African color palettes including black accents on white, red and orange tones, blues and purples. Some of the silhouettes presented were bikinis, monokinis, tangas, cut outs, classics, cover-ups and resort wears.

Alessandra Gold, Creative Director for KRUZIN Footwear, collaborated with Lila Nikole to add a more ‘urban’-tribal feel with the models wearing leather snapbacks by EXE x KRUZIN, ABA metal chokers and a variety of chrome gold and silver limited edition KRUZIN sneakers.

The designers would like to express special thanks to sponsors ‘Fruits and Wine by Moncigale’ , Funkshion, and to Adriana Marie – AMCO (NYC) for their generous production support allowing Alessandra and Lila to rock the runway a second time.
